Bouquet of Tulips and Daffodils
The bouquet of tulips and daffodils is not just a still life, but a captured paradox. It was drawn after a sudden April snowfall, and this whim of nature became not only the inspiration but the very essence of the technique.
The entire work is executed in pointillism. The myriads of black ink dots are the very April snowflakes that covered the ground. But instead of bringing cold and withering, this “snowy” swarm of dots, on the contrary, creates an image full of life.
Every petal and leaf is born from this dotted snowfall. The flowers seem to push through the snow dust, and the technique itself gives them a fragile, shimmering texture, as if they are still covered in melting frost. This is an ode to the resilience of spring and to a beauty born in spite of the cold.
