I happened to come across an old letter opener; it was in disrepair. Dents, chips, peeling lacquer surface… Apparently, it had been exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, so the Urushi lacquer was practically destroyed. The silhouette of the hut was barely discernible; the rest was one murky, cracked expanse. I couldn’t pass it by. The lost hut became a point of reference, then mountains rose, and a waterfall tumbled from the sky. While I was creating this landscape, a short story about this hut emerged:
On the blade — a waterfall, mist descending. The path to a lost mountain hut is hidden from sight; it can be seen only at dawn. They say its inhabitant is the Keeper of letters that were never sent. This letter opener reveals unspoken intentions. I named this letter opener – “Keeper of the Mist“.
